Should an asset be shared?

Shared asset

Use this when several people need to see or report issues for the same asset.

  • Hotel room
  • Common area
  • Building equipment
  • Rental yacht
  • Construction site equipment

With Reporter access enabled in the workspace, Shared asset lets active Reporters see the asset and report issues from its QR code or the asset list.

Shared asset is OFF

Use this when access should be limited to selected users: assigned users, Owners, Managers and Admins.

If you are not sure, start with Shared. An Admin or responsible Manager can change this setting later.

For Reporter requests, the responsible Manager assigns the repair; Admin is the fallback. Owner is not used for shared Reporter requests.

Why Shared assets matter

Reporters can only see shared assets. To let staff, guests, owners, tenants or other people acting as Reporters report an issue, make the asset shared.

Hotel

Housekeeping reports a problem in a shared room or shared equipment.

Marina

A boat owner or marina staff reports an issue on a shared yacht or equipment.

Property Management

A tenant or staff reports an issue on a shared apartment or building equipment.

Construction

Site staff reports an issue on shared equipment or areas.
